American families............ |
This page has been created in the light of recently finding a lot more "american cousins" that we were not aware of before.......I was contacted by Steve Keogh in Nashville saying that he thought we were related when he found my website on the internet and read some of the family history...............and he was right! Bernard Joseph Keogh of Grenfell Street Widnes - my great grandfather, who we "found out about" recently (being buried in Widnes Cemetery with my sister Ann Monica and my Keogh grandparents) is also his great grandfather!!! And so the story of our extended american family starts here and will take some unravelling as it is a very big family. This page will grow as we put together the story of the Keogh brother who went to America from Grenfell Street - the place of my birth. The Keogh Family Reunion - 20 July 2008 - The Cedars of Lebanon - Nashville - Tennessee For more photos click on the Reunion Photos link in the Left column. The following documents are available by following the link to view them.
The american cousins above are all descended from Thomas Edward Keogh (who emigrated to the USA in 1914 with his wife Catherine Winifred Byrne and 5 month old Mona), Bernard Joseph (my dad's brother) and Kitty (Keogh-Gilmore - my dad's sister) - both of whom emigrated in 1929 and settled in Nashville. Gerry Keogh (centre of the picture above) is the only surviving child of Thonas and Catherine while Bernard's five daughters and Kitty's 3 children are still with us and their families grow ever bigger with the passing of time - the Keogh family traditions live on in America also............
