I have recently started to research my Keogh family history and realised that I knew very little about my Keogh family beyond my immediate family. After a short time it became obvious that a lot of relatives have passed away with little knowledge of ther early life and times and I was saddened by this thought. It has therefore spurred me to find out all I can about my forefathers, and all their relatives, and at the same time to leave behind some knowledge of how I arrived at where I am today and into the future. Our families are made up of the Keogh's (Dad's family), Evans's (Mum's family), Mercer's (Irene's Dad) and Griffiths (Irene's Mum) - so looking into the family histories is going to be a lengthy and ongoing process for quite some time - watch this space. So far I am back to my Great Grandfather - who as you may have seen was also named Bernard Joseph Keogh - he was born in Galway in 1851 (or 1854 depending on where you look) - so I guess it means back over the water to Ireland to trace his family - hard work this geneology (but the Guinness might help !!) This page will be growing for a looooooooooong time but will hopefully have lots of interest as the family histories unfold......................... |
